Watch the winning entry and runners-up in our Sony “Focus is Essential” Short Film Challenge.

We asked. You delivered.

All week, we have been sharing insights about the Sony Cinema Line and the technology behind VENICE, the FX9, FX6, and FX3. If you need to catch up, you can read all about it here.

To kick things off, we invited you to take part in our Sony “Focus is Essential” Short Film Challenge, where we asked you to tell us why focus is an important part of storytelling through a short film. We received an overwhelming number of entries that showcased the veracity of the subject. We were blown away by the creativity of the No Film School community.

It was a tough decision narrowing down a single winner. We wish we could have given away about a dozen Sony FX3 cameras, but we only have one. Without further ado, the overall winner of the Sony “Focus Is Essential” Short Film Contest is Friday Night by Jason Cunningham.

We’ve also highlighted some of our favorite runners-up. Check them out below.

Overall Winner

Friday Night – Jason Cunningham

First Runner Up

My Dad Was a Bad Photographer – Danilo Doc Lee

Second Runner Up

Blur – Andreas Dimitriou

Third Runner Up
